Friday, July=20 16 is a special day that I would encourage you to mark on your=20 calendar.  It is the day of the annual Meals on Wheels/ TRIAD = Senior=20 Picnic.  This event is a delightful way to have a BBQ lunch, = socialize=20 with friends, be entertained, and learn about interesting products and = services.=20

The picnic = will be held=20 at the Rutland Fair Grounds beginning at 10:00 am.  Lunch is at noon, and the = program=20 usually ends around 2:00 pm.  = You=20 can find the picnic grounds by following the signs at the Park Street = entrance.=20 TRIAD has thought about everything. They even run golf carts to the = parking=20 lots so that you can step out of your car and be personally delivered to = the=20 picnic site. The ground is relatively level and there are paved=20 walkways.

The day is = designed as=20 an educational day with a crime prevention and safety theme.  Lots = of local=20 police officers help out to make the day enjoyable.  Several businesses donate door = prizes=20 and services to add to the day. This year there will be information = about=20 the =93Project Lifesaver=94 Program which helps provide rapid response = to save lives=20 and reduce the potential for serious injury to adults and children who = wander=20 due to Alzheimer=92s disease, Autism, Down Syndrome, dementia and other = related=20 disorders.

Reservations MUST be=20 made ahead of time so that they can have an accurate meal count.  = To=20 register, call Meals on Wheels at 775-0133.  The suggested donation = for the=20 meal is $4.00 for those over 60 years of age.  The charge for those = younger=20 than 60 years old  is = $5.00. =20 If you have questions, Lynn Tucker has answers.  Call her at=20 786-0037.

I hope each = of my=20 Circle readers has a wonderful summer full of enjoyable=20 activities.  I=92ll connect with you again in the = fall!
