It=92s summer and=20 time to get out and enjoy our beautiful state. You can do just that on = July 20=20 at the annual Meals on Wheels/ TRIAD Senior Picnic. This event is a = delightful way to enjoy a BBQ lunch, socialize with friends, be = entertained, and=20 learn about interesting products and services from many exhibitors.=20

The=20 picnic will be held at the Rutland Fair Grounds (facilities donated by = the=20 Vermont State Fair Association) beginning at 10 a.m. Lunch is at = noon, and=20 the program usually ends around 2 p.m.

You=20 can find the picnic grounds by following the signs at the Park Street = entrance.=20 TRIAD has thought about everything. They even run golf carts to the = parking lots=20 so that you can step out of your car and be delivered to the picnic = site. =20 The ground is relatively level and there are paved=20 walkways.

The=20 day has an educational focus with a crime prevention and safety=20 theme. Local police officers help out to make the day an enjoyable=20 one. Several businesses donate door prizes and services to add to = the=20 day. Senior ID=92s will be available as = well.

Reservations MUST be made ahead of time so that they can have = an=20 accurate meal count. To register, call Meals on Wheels at=20 775-0133. The suggested=20 donation for=20 the meal is $4 for those = over 60=20 years of age. The cost=20 to those younger than 60 years is $5.
