We have had = a great=20 T-Ball and baseball season with over 150 kids playing ball.  The Rec Department would like = to thank=20 all of the coaches and parents who helped make this season a = success.  I would also like to thank our = T-Ball=20 and Mitey Mites program director Tim Pockette as well as our Little = League and=20 Babe Ruth program director Jeff Cassarino for their time and effort on = behalf of=20 these programs. During the summer, we look forward to a safe and fun = pool season=20 at Northwood Park.  We = will be=20 continuing baseball into the summer with our Babe Ruth teams playing = through=20 July.  We thank Sean = Alvarez and=20 Jeff Cassarino for coaching these teams and for their years of = dedication to=20 youth baseball in Rutland Town. =20 After Babe Ruth ends we take a little break in youth sports until = we=20 start our soccer season in September. =20

I would = like to=20 acknowledge the amazing event the Rec Department hosted on May 19 at the = newly=20 named Richard DelBianco Park  = at=20 Dewey Field. It was an honor for us to share our thoughts and memories = with the=20 DelBianco family on this evening of dedication to a great Rutland Town = resident,=20 the late Dick DelBianco. The field dedication was followed by a great = little=20 league baseball game between the Rutland Town Chargers and the Pittsford = Royals.  The Chargers = pulled out a=20 win to tie with the Royals for first place in the league.  We thank Cathy and Craig = Robideau for=20 their time and the use of their sound system which was very useful in = the=20 dedication and the game, as we had the next great baseball caller, Tommy = Hogenkamp, do the player introductions and the game play-by-play.  Natalie Brierre performed a = beautiful=20 and moving national anthem.  = Her=20 rendition was amazing and we can=92t thank her enough.  After the anthem we had = Dick=92s=20 grandchildren throw out the first pitch to start the game.  I=92m sure Dick was looking = down and=20 smiling to see all of these Rutland Town kids do such a wonderful = job.  I would also like to thank our = two grill=20 masters, Kristen Kenosh and Rich Alercio, =20 who cooked 200 hamburgers and 175 hotdogs for our hungry = guests.  We couldn=92t have pulled this = off without=20 you.  This event was so = much fun, we=20 are hoping to make it a yearly event and call it Richard DelBianco = Baseball=20 Night.

Once again, = the Rec=20 Department thanks all who help and support us.  We hope you and your kids have = a great=20 summer.
