Thank you, to all who participated on Green Up Day. The Highway Dept. picked up 60 = bags and=20 Green Up volunteers picked up another 30 bags. Thanks to Sue Notte and = the Velco=20 volunteers for their participation. I appreciate all their=20 help.

I=20 anticipate the McKinley Ave. Bridge will be closed most of July for the = deck=20 replacement project. = Announcements=20 will be made in the paper. = The=20 detour will be north on U.S. Route 7 to Pinnacle Ridge Road. Then west on Pinnacle Ridge = Road to=20 North Grove Street. Then = south on=20 North Grove Street to McKinley Ave. =20 An additional daytime closure will be needed in early August for=20 replacement of the culvert near the Burke = property.

The=20 summer paving program will start sometime in August. This year McKinley Ave. and = Townline=20 Road will be refurbished using cold in-place recycling technology. This is a process where the = existing=20 pavement is ground up, made into cold mix asphalt and put back in place = as new=20 asphalt. A sealer of hot = mix=20 asphalt will be applied after a ten-day cure period. This technology was used by = the Town of=20 Mendon on Meadowlake Drive, and by the Town of Brandon on the Arnold = District=20 Road. The cost savings = allowed the=20 entire length of Townline Road to be done this year instead of only a = half-mile=20 section. Additionally = these streets=20 will receive an overlay: = Susan=20 Lane, Deborah Drive, Janice Ave., Nancy Lane, Gloria Ave., Annette = Terrace, and=20 Linda Drive. If money = allows,=20 Hitzel Terrace and Cannon Drive will be included. Cross culverts on all for = these streets=20 will be replaced as needed.
