RUTLAND TOWN BOARD OF SCHOOL DIRECTORS MEETING
July 20, 2009
Special Town Meeting
OPEN: Chairman Stacy Chapman opened the meeting at 7:05 pm
PRESENT: In attendance were: Board members Marc Brierre, Stacy Chapman and Jim Levins, Superintendant Wendy Savery, Principal Pati Beaumont, Bus. Mgr. Cheryl Scarzello,
John Berryhill and six residents.
Chairman Chapman read and explained the Articles to be voted on tomorrow. Stacy reported that
the bids have been received. He spoke on the bids, stating that they are good as they are lower than
expected. The board is recommending the 50 year shingles.
PUBLIC QUESTIONS & COMMENTS: Can the roof project be completed this year. Stacy – yes.
John Berryhill explained the plan to repair the roof and that project will not be completed before the school year starts, however efforts will be made to not cause disruption with school and the project will be completed before the end of this calendar year.
A question was raised as to what per cent of the funds to be used for the roof were Rutland Town taxes. Cheryl – some from local taxes and some came from State she would have to research for accurate figures.
Jim Levins raised question which bid to accept. Wendy – responded when amount is less than $500,000.oo, School Administrators may accept any of the lowest three bids.
Stacey Thanked the members of the public for attending.
