TOWN OF RUTLAND
Board members present: Stanley F. Rhodes III, Steve Hawley, Don Chioffi and John Paul Faignant
The Meeting opened at 6:00 P.M.
All rose for the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States Flag.
Ms. Tracy Montminy, of Black River Design Architects, met with the Board and reviewed the bid submittals. Ms. Montminy told the Board that all of the bids submitted were found to be responsible. Ms. Montminy told the Board that VMS is the lowest responsible bid received.
Ms. Montminy informed the Board that the Nalor & Breen submittal was missing unit price information. Ms. Montimey said the missing information had been requested with the submittal.
Ms. Montminy said the next step is to send a letter of intent to VMS. Ms. Montminy said her review considered the base bid. Ms. Montminy said VMS would still be the low bid even if several ad-on's were put back into the project.
Mr. Chioffi said he compared all of the unit prices and the base bids and found it did not change the bottom line. Mr. Hawley moved to award VMS the center Rutland Fire Station bid. Mr. Faignant made a second to the motion.
The Board discussed the bids further. Ms. Montminy said once the bid is awarded the Board would send out a letter of intent. Ms. Montminy said the first thing the Board should do is talk to the contractor regarding adding items back into the project.
The motion passed unanimously.
Ms. Montminy informed the Board that some asbestos will need to be removed from the Fire Station prior to demolition. Ms. Montminy cited the fact that Mr. Rhodes will be both the Owner's Rep as well as the Clerk-of-the-works. Ms. Montminy said her office has seen the duo representation work successfully.
Mr. Chioffi said he would be happy to fill in for Mr. Rhodes should he need someone to fill in. Mr. Chioffi said he wanted to get his offer on the record.
Ms. Montminy and the Board discussed other items and took no action. Mr. Faignant move to refer (which items to add back into the project) to the Fire Committee. Mr. Chioffi made a second to the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Mr. Faignant moved to close the meeting. Mr. Hawley made a second to the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
