ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

1. Sealed bids for the Town of Rutland McKinley bridge re-construction project will be received at the Town Municipal Building until 3:00 P.M. on Friday March 26, 2010 and at that time and place shall be opened and read aloud publicly.

2. A Pre-Bid meeting will be held on March 12, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the Town of Rutland Municipal Building (AKA Town Hall) in Center Rutland, Vermont.

3. In general, the project includes, but is not limited to, bridge deck replacement, guardrail work and associated road approach work.

4. Contract Documents may be examined at the following locations:

A non-refundable fee of $50.00 will be required for each complete set of plans and specifications. The check shall be made out to the Town of Rutland.

5. Each Bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond or a Treasurer’s, Cashier’s or Certified Check in the amount of 5% of the bid amount. Checks shall be payable to the Town of Rutland.

6. BIDDERS are required to submit proposals on the Bid form provided. The undersigned reserves the right to waive informalities in Bids, to reject any or all Bids submitted, and to accept the proposal deemed best for the Town.

7. No BID may be withdrawn within 40 days, Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holiday excluded, after the opening of Bids.

8. The successful BIDDER must furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond with a surety company approved by the OWNER.
