RUTLAND TOWN SELECTBOARD COMMITTEE MEETING

HIGHWAY COMMITTEE

FRIDAY DECEMBER 9^th, 2022

The Highway Committee of the Rutland Town Selectboard met at 9:30 AM on Friday November 4^th , 2022, at the Municipal Town Hall. Present was Selectboard Member Joe Denardo, Selectboard Member Mary Ashcroft, Road Commissioner Dave Sears, and Town Administrator Bill Sweet.

1. Discussion on the 2023 – 2024 budget.
   1. The state aid was mistakenly included in the calculation for the amount to be raised by taxes. After discussing it with the auditors, we can adjust it in this budget.
   2. Discussed the purchase of a new truck. It was originally included in the budget, but the funds can come from the Capital Improvement fund instead. This will be the recommendation and the new equipment line will be adjustment back down.
   3. Sidewalk plowing will be done by our crew going forward, so there is no longer an additional expense.
   4. Adjustments were made to some other lines based on discussions.
   5. Discussed adding permanent speed signs in the area of the Town school.
   6. Discussed the status of the road book. It is believed to be complete but not known for sure. Selectwoman Ashcroft will look into this.
2. Discussed the updates to the Streets and Sidewalks Ordinance.
   1. We want to ensure our reference to state standards is correct.
   2. Discussed how the draft should be worded. Some additional changes were made.
3. Discussed communication received from Dave Dress from Carmel Place.

The meeting adjourned at 11:12 AM.
