RUTLAND TOWN SELECTBOARD COMMITTEE MEETING

PERSONNEL COMMITTEE

WEDNESDAY JANUARY 11^th, 2023

The Personnel Committee of the Rutland Town Selectboard met at 1:00 PM on Wednesday January 11^th, 2023, at the Municipal Town Hall. Present was Selectboard Member Sharon Russell, Selectboard Member Kurt Hathaway, Town Lister Marcia Chioffi, Town Lister Howard Burgess, Town Lister Dean Davis, and Town Administrator Bill Sweet. Selectboard Chairman Don Chioffi is a member of the personnel committee but did not participate in this meeting to eliminate a potential conflict of interest.

1. Discussed the future of the Listers Office with the pending retirement of Howard Burgess.
   2022. Town Lister Howard Burgess has retired as a Full Time Lister as of December 31^st, 2022.
   2023. The intent was for Mr. Burges to work part time, mostly from home, and only come in to the office if he needed to.
   2024. Town Lister Dean Davis may resign to allow someone to be appointed so the office can maintain proper staffing. This person would need to be trained. Details of how that would be done were not decided.
   2025. The State is requiring a Town Wide reappraisal and the office will need staff trained in order to handle it efficiently.
   2026. There is someone who is interested in taking over in the office but they have not made a formal application to the Board yet.
