RUTLAND TOWN SELECT BOARD COMMITTEE MEETING

RECREATION COMMITTEE

TUESDAY MAY 7^th, 2024

The Recreation Committee of the Rutland Town Select Board met at 5:30 PM on Tuesday May 7^th, 2024, at the Municipal Town Hall. Present was Select Board Member Sharon Russell, Select Board Member Matt Getty, Town Rec Director Mike Rowe, and Town Administrator Bill Sweet.

 

All the lifeguards needed for the season have been hired.

The pool is nearly ready to be power washed. The plan is to open late June.

The Committee discussed the purchase of a tractor mounted sprayer.

1. This would be used to spray fertilizer and pesticides as needed on town properties.
2. One option has been found for approximately $4700.
3. Discussed the options for spraying and what may be needed.
4. Discussed the capital improvement fund being used for the initial purchase. Future rec budgets would account for the purchase of the chemicals.

Discussed plans for the August 24^th Town Wide Celebration

1. Discussed how much food to order compared to last year. The same amount will be ordered.
2. Mike will pick up the food and order the drinks and paper products.
3. The Town 8^th grade class will be invited to participate again this year.
4. Many of the organizations who participated last year are being invited back.
