RUTLAND TOWN SELECT BOARD COMMITTEE MEETING

HIGHWAY COMMITTEE

MONDAY JUNE 17^th, 2024

The Highway Committee of the Rutland Town Select Board met at 9:00 AM on Monday June 17^th, 2024, at the Municipal Town Hall. Select Board Clerk Joe Denardo, Select Board Member Kurt Hathaway, Road Commissioner Dave Sears, and Town Administrator Bill Sweet were present.

The Committee discussed the planned Route 7 North Shared Use Path project.

1. Consultants were reviewed and the Towns Municipal Project Manager provided us with a summary. Stantec came in as the highest rated consultant.
2. After discussion, the committee will have the MPM send a request for proposal to Stantec.
3. Discussed having consideration for a meeting with property owners who would need to give the Town an easement for the work. The committee was in favor of that.
4. Discussed what topics should be discussed with the full Board for approval. The committee decided on contract approvals and expenditures.

VTrans has been contacted about having a discussion on possible changes to the western intersection of Business Route 4 and Simons Avenue. The VTrans rep gave some dates. June 25^th is likely the best date.

The Regional Planning Commission will be conducting a traffic study in the Green Mountain Plaza for us. They are planning it for July.

Discussed efforts to sell the old highway truck. A buyer has not been found yet.

Roadside mowing had started but a part failure on the mower has stopped it. The new part is on order.
