RUTLAND TOWN SELECTBOARD FIRE COMMITTEE MEETING
JUNE 2nd , 2026
The Fire Committee of the Rutland Town Selectboard met at 5:00 PM on Tuesday June 2nd, 2026, at the Municipal Town Hall. Present were Selectboard Member Sharon Russell, Selectboard Member Kurt Hathaway, Town Fire Chief Chris Clark, Town Assistant Fire Chief Mike Carlson, and Town Assistant Fire Chief Larry Dell Veneri.
Reviewed the impact the proposed Walmart project could have on our fire department.
- The project does not present an unreasonable burden for the department. There is some equipment which would help the fire department operate at this property more effectively.
- Discussed requesting upgraded portable radios for the officers to improve communication.
- Discussed requesting additional hose, valves and nozzles to add to the high-rise packs for working inside the building.
- Discussed requesting newer positive pressure fans which would help ventilate a building that size.
- This list will be presented at the Board meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 5:26 PM.
