RUTLAND TOWN SELECT BOARD
RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING
MONDAY MAY 3rd, 2021
The Recreation Committee of the Rutland Town Select Board met at 3:30 PM on Monday May 3rd at the Rutland Town Municipal Town Hall. Present was Board Chair Mary Ashcroft, Board Clerk Joe Denardo, Board Member Sharon Russell, Town Rec Director Mike Rowe, Town Road Commissioner Byron Hathaway, and Town Administrative Assistant Bill Sweet. There was a conference call line with a publicly accessible and warned phone number in use.
- The committee reviewed the 2 sets of plans provided by Otter Creek Engineering for the proposed shared use path at Northwood Park. They are designated as C1 and C2.
- The benefits and drawbacks of each set of plans was discussed.
- The plans without the large number of switchbacks, C1, was preferred.
- The C2 plan is approximately 500 feet longer.
- Both plans meet all ADA requirements.
- There are no archeological concerns with the shorter path.
- The C1 set of plans was chosen and will be used to create the Act 250 permit request.
- Mr. Rowe said the pool cover is off and cleaning will begin next week.
