RUTLAND TOWN SELECTBOARD COMMITTEE MEETING

NEW PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING COMMITTEE

TUESDAY OCTOBER 19TH, 2021

The New Public Safety Building Committee of the Rutland Town Selectboard met at 5:30 PM on Tuesday October 19th at the Rutland Town Municipal Town Hall. Present was Board Chair Mary Ashcroft, Board Clerk Joe Denardo, Board Member Don Chioffi, Board Member Sharon Russell, Town Fire Chief Chris Clark, Town Police Chief Ed Dumas, Town Assistant Fire Chief Larry Dellveneri, Town Assistant Fire Chief Mike Carlson, Town Deputy Police Chief Ted Washburn, and Town Administrative Assistant Bill Sweet.

  • Discussed topics from the last meeting.
  • The survey map of the property is complete.
  • Selectman Faignant has met with Ed Clark from NBF Architects. Mr. Clark was given copies of what we have so far and said they would be able to assist us with putting together information to be included on the Town ballot.
    • A schedule and cost estimate were given. They expect the cost to be approximately $8500.
    • Selectman Faignant would like the committee to recommend to the full board designating NBF Architects as a preferred vendor. This firm has experience building several similar facilities in the area.
    • Discussed the experience of NBF and the committee agreed they would be a good choice.
  • Discussed the opportunity of an adjacent landowner to give the Town some land to assist with this project. The committee agreed getting a firm agreement needs to be a priority.
  • Discussed having the next meeting on site with NBF Architects.
  • The committee will recommend at the next board meeting to designate NBF Architects as a preferred vendor and hire them to create plans, and any other documentation necessary to have a proposal for town meeting.
  • A date for the next meeting will be set after the availability of the architects can be determined.

The meeting adjourned at 5:48 PM.

Respectfully submitted, Bill Sweet
