EMERGENCY MEETING

This meeting had a virtual attendance option available for anyone to join.
- Meeting opened at 9:00 A.M.
- Board members present Mary Ashcroft, Joe Denardo, Sharon Russell, John Paul Faignant and Don Chioffi
- Members of the public present Keith Whitcomb
Selectman Faignant reviewed the need and background as to why he is recommending, as the Town Health Officer, to enact a mask mandate for all indoor publicly accessible spaces. This is a self-limiting statute from the State Legislature. It automatically expires in April of 2022. It will have to be renewed every 6 weeks.
Selectman Faignant recommended including the provided exemptions in the model rule and gave recommendations for fines and waiver fees.
Selectwoman Russell moved to approve the recommendations and to adopt the Mask Rule. Selectman Denardo seconded the motion. If approved, the information can be disseminated by the Health Officer and Town Police as well as asking the Rutland Herald to cover the story. It will also be added to the website and social media. The motion passed 4 – 1 with Selectman Chioffi voting against the motion.
Selectman Denardo moved to adjourn. Selectman Faignant seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 9:11 AM.
