RUTLAND TOWN SELECTBOARD COMMITTEE MEETING
HIGHWAY COMMITTEE
FRIDAY NOVEMBER 4th, 2022
The Highway Committee of the Rutland Town Selectboard met at 9:10 AM on Friday November 4th , 2022, at the Municipal Town Hall. Present was Selectboard Member Joe Denardo, Selectboard Member Mary Ashcroft, Road Commissioner Dave Sears, and Town Administrator Bill Sweet.
- Discussion on the 2023 – 2024 budget.
- Commissioner Sears presented his draft budget proposal.
- The committee reviewed each line and adjustments were made during the discussion.
- Proposed additions to the budget include an additional full-time position, a new part time position, an additional 3-yard truck, a new line for building maintenance, and a new line for class 4 road maintenance.
- Discussed establishing an on-call system, and compensation structure. This would ensure one person would be available on weekends to respond to any issues.
- Total personnel cost changes will be calculated after final staffing and salary changes are decided.
- Discussed the replacement signs at various points coming into Town. A new concept has not been developed. We will reach out to Awesome Graphics to have them come up with a new design.
