RUTLAND TOWN SELECTBOARD HIGHWAY COMMITTEE MEETING
APRIL 20th, 2026
The Highway Committee of the Rutland Town Selectboard met at 9:00 AM on Monday April 20th, 2026, at the Municipal Town Hall. Present were Selectboard Clerk Joe Denardo, Selectboard Member Kurt Hathaway, Town Road Commissioner Dave Sears, and Town Administrator Bill Sweet.
Reviewed the bids received for the Stratton Road culvert project.
- Otter Creek Engineering advertised, received and reviewed the bids for us.
- Three bids were received.
- Camp bid $182,211
- Fort Miller bid $178,450
- Michie bid $159,045
- The low bidder is who Otter Creek Engineering recommends the Town go with.
- The committee will recommend this to the full board.
Reviewed the 2026 paving bids received.
- Commissioner Sears advertised, received and reviewed the bids.
- Three bids were received.
- Fuller Sand and Gravel bid $343,184.29
- Pike Industries bid $ 347,342.62
- Wilk bid $307,570.65
- The low bidder, Wilk, is who Commissioner Sears recommended to the committee.
- The committee will recommend this to the full Board.
Discussed the sewer liner from the car wash. The committee will discuss this with the full Board.
Discussed the budget status.
- There have been several projects this year which have been charged to engineering. Some of these have grant reimbursements related to them. When the reimbursement is received it is put into an income line and does not get credited back to the expense line.
Discussed establishing a long term fund for replacing culverts. It was agreed that we need to know how many and what type are going to need to be replaced over the next several years before a plan could be proposed.
Discussed the project to reconfigure the entrance / exit at the Green Mountain Plaza. We will contact the State person from VTrans again see if their signal work discussion was held.
