TOWN OF RUTLAND PLANNING COMMISSION

MEETING MINUTES

 

DATE: January 25^th, 2024

LOCATION: Town Hall and a publicly accessible conference line

OPEN MEETING 6:30 P.M.

 

Commission Members Present: Chair Barbara Pulling, Dana Peterson, Howard Burgess, Jerry Stearns, Mary Beth Poli, and Norm Cohen. All members in attendance are voting members for this meeting.

Members of the Public Present:  None

Approval of the Agenda:

Mr. Stearns moved to approve the agenda. Mr. Burgess seconded the motion. After discussion, the motion passed unanimously.

Old Business: Survey for new State program to promote new housing – open

1. The survey will be available soon.
2. The Town will help to promote it by putting it out on our digital platforms.
3. There is also a survey to help provide input for the new regional plan.

Old Business: Outreach to commercial/business property owners in the River Corridor

1. There will be a presentation to this group at the February 15^th meeting from several organizations. The Select Board has been invited.
2. Discussed if this would be good for property owners to attend. The presentation will be advertised ahead of the meeting. These groups would not likely be able to answer specific Town-related questions.
3. A draft letter was reviewed and discussed which can be sent to property owners who would be affected by new regulations.
4. Discussed the impact to property owners.

Announcements

The Post Road Solar developer has submitted a petition for a Certificate of Public Good. The State is requesting a MOU regarding the archeologically sensitive areas.  A timeline was not known.

Approval of Minutes January 4^th, 2024:

Mr. Peterson moved to approve the minutes. Mr. Stearns seconded the motion. Mr. Cohen asked for 2 clerical changes. Mr. Peterson moved to approve the minutes as amended. Mr. Stearns seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

Adjournment:

Mr. Cohen moved to adjourn. Mr. Burgess seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

The meeting adjourned at 7:03PM.
