Planning Commission Minutes 3-27-2025
TOWN OF RUTLAND PLANNING COMMISSION
MEETING MINUTES
DATE: March 27th, 2025
LOCATION: Town Hall and a publicly accessible conference line
OPEN MEETING 6:30 P.M.
Commission Members Present: Chair Barbara Pulling, Dana Peterson, Howard Burgess, Sherman Hunter, Jerry Stearns, Mary Beth Poli, and Norm Cohen. All members are voting members for this meeting.
Members of the Public Present: None
Approval of the Agenda:
Mr. Peterson moved to approve the agenda. Mr. Hunter seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Old Business: Subdivision ordinance work update
- The small committee met again to continue work on the update.
- There are references from State Statute and from the Town plan which need to be taken into consideration.
- Discussed eliminating sketch plan for the regulations.
- The workgroup is interested in hearing from the Town attorney about his recommendations.
Old Business: River Corridor Ordinance
- The current version has not been sent to the State resource yet.
Announcements
The Pocket Park grant application did not get approved. ADA access was among the biggest concerns.
Discussed a proposed tri-town trail brought to the Selectboard at their recent meeting. It will go from Pittsford, to Proctor, through the Town along West Proctor Road, and then to West Rutland. Mary Beth Poli gave an update on the Velemont Trail, which could be incorporated into their project.
Discussed the Cortina Inn. It is not known how their follow up inspection went and if they are open.
Approval of Minutes March 6th, 2025:
Mr. Stearns moved to approve the minutes. Mr. Peterson seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Mr. Stearns and Ms. Poli abstained.

Mr. Stearns moved to adjourn. Mr. Peterson seconded the motion. The meeting adjourned at 7:23PM.
