TOWN OF RUTLAND PLANNING COMMISSION

MEETING MINUTES

 

DATE: June 19^th, 2025

LOCATION: Town Hall and a publicly accessible conference line

OPEN MEETING 6:30 P.M.

 

Commission Members Present: Chair Barbara Pulling, Dana Peterson, Sherman Hunter, Andy McKane, Norm Cohen, and Demetrio Gagnon. All members are voting members for this meeting.

Members of the Public Present:  None

Introduced the newest appointee to the Planning Commission, Demetrio Gagnon.

Approval of the Agenda:

Mr. Peterson moved to approve the agenda. Mr. Hunter seconded the motion. A discussion of the Stormwater ordinance under new business was added to the agenda. Mr. Peterson moved to approve the motion as amended. Mr. Hunter seconded the amended motion. The motion passed unanimously.

New Business: Stormwater ordinance update

1. As a result of someone reaching out about the stormwater ordinance, it was found that there are sections that need to be changed.
2. Our vendor who helped develop it was contacted and will be giving us the updates.

Old Business: Subdivision ordinance – next steps

1. The Town Attorney is coming to talk to the Selectboard on July 1^st about this ordinance.
2. Discussed the challenges with the current documents, and options for updates.
3. After the Board meeting with Town attorney the next steps can be discussed.

Old Business: Pocket Park – scheduler phase 1 meeting

1. A meeting with the Town Rec director is needed to go over this project.
2. Discussed what the priorities would be for the initial work.

Approval of Minutes May 8^th, 2025:

Mr. Peterson moved to approve the minutes. Mr. McKane seconded the motion. After discussion, the motion passed unanimously. Mr. Hunter abstained.

Approval of Minutes May 29^th, 2025:

There is not a quorum of members present now from this meeting. It will be added to the next agenda.

Adjournment:

Mr. Cohen moved to adjourn. Mr. McKane seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 7:22PM.
