RUTLAND TOWN SELECT BOARD

RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING

TUESDAY NOVEMBER 10^th, 2020

 

The Recreation Committee of the Rutland Town Select Board met at 5:00 PM on Tuesday November 10^th at the Municipal Town Hall. Present was Board Chair Joshua Terenzini, Board Member John Paul Faignant, Board Member Sharon Russell, Town Administrative Assistant Bill Sweet, Town Rec Director Mike Rowe

The committee discussed the draft budget proposal from the Fire Chiefs.

1. The budget draft is level funded except for a 3% increase in compensation for the Rec Director.
2. Discussed the long-term plan of replacing the zero-turn mower. Mr. Rowe said he had projected 2021 as the year to replace it. The committee felt this may be too soon and plans to delay it at this time.
3. Basketball will be starting with precautions in place. An option for live streaming the games from our Town School Gym is being investigated. No spectator will be allowed to attend games in person. Practices start on November 30^th with games planned to being on January 11^th.
4. After further discussion regarding the budget, $3000 will be moved from the maintenance line to the lifeguard compensation line at the request of Mr. Rowe.

 

There being no other business the meeting adjourned at 5:15 PM.
