RUTLAND TOWN SELECTBOARD COMMITTEE MEETING

RECREATON COMMITTEE

NOVEMBER 18^th, 2025

The Recreation Committee of the Rutland Town Selectboard met at 5:00 PM on Tuesday November 18^th,2025, at the Municipal Town Hall. Selectboard Member Matt Getty, Selectboard Member Sharon Russell, Recreation Director Mike Rowe, and Town Administrator Bill Sweet were present.

Discussed the draft budget proposed.

• Reviewed the proposal to add an aquatics director position, included in the lifeguards / pool staff budget line. Reviewed payroll updates to lifeguard compensation.
• Reviewed how the maintenance labor lines were adjusted based on plans between the 2 parks.
• A healthcare line will need to be added. Director Rowe has not taken Town insurance in the past, but the addition of the opt-out policy makes him eligible for the payments so the cost needs to be accounted for. Discussed what number should be added to the budget. No decision was made
• There are some benefit numbers which still need to be filled in. This should be done by the budget presentation meeting.

Another vendor has been approached about the replacement pool project.

• Their initial estimate was similar to the first vendor.
• We would need to pay someone to create the design for us. This is separate from the bid process to do the work.
• This design work would not include any interior renovations or building a new pump house building.

The tractor shared with the highway department is still waiting for repair.  It may need a new motor. Commissioner Sears is still talking with the dealer about the repair work.

The meeting adjourned at 5:40 PM.
