 RUTLAND TOWN SELECTBOARD REC COMMITTEE MEETING

MARCH 10^th, 2026

The Rec Committee of the Rutland Town Selectboard met at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, March 10^th, 2026, at the Municipal Town Hall. Present were Selectboard Member Sharon Russell, Selectboard Member Matt Getty, Town Rec Director Mike Rowe and Town Administrator Bill Sweet.

Reviewed a proposal from a firm to help develop plans to replace the pool.

• The total cost for services is $75,000. The are some additional optional services.
• Discussed next steps and the sources of funds to pay for this and if it should go to town counsel for review.

Discussed advertising for a maintenance person for Dewey Field

• There was a person interested but they are no longer available.
• Discussed advertising the positing.
• It will be posted like we do for other job openings

 

Reviewed the vehicle replacement schedule and depreciation balances

• A full list of vehicles and equipment has been put together.
• Reviewed the list and depreciation balances and contributions.
• Discussing replacing the Ford Ranger. A quote, accounting for State contract pricing was reviewed. It was for a new F150 which could tow a trailer. The contract price is approximately $44,000. No action was recommended.
• It was believed there is a separate account set aside for pool replacement. Need to investigate all the rec accounts to check balances.

 

Discussed long-term plans for replacing the building at Dewey Field.

• Different options for replacing it were reviewed.
