Invitation to bid
The Town of Rutland Cemetery Commissioners are seeking bids from local excavating contractors for the construction of approximately 450 lineal feet of driveway at the Cheney Hill Cemetery. Bids will be received until 11 am May 10, 2022. The bids will be opened at a meeting of the Cemetery Commissioners on May 10, 2022 at 5 pm at the Rutland Town Offices. The Cemetery Commissioners reserve the right to accept or reject any or all bids.

Specifications
1. Remove 6” of sod and soil, maintaining existing grades, and slopes to a width of 14’ from the end of the existing gravel driveway to the exit gate at Pinnacle Ridge Road for a distance of 450’+/- as designated by the Cemetery Commissioners. A 25’ radius to be added to the two inside corners on the north end of the project.
2. Replace the removed material with 8” compacted depth of #2 pea stone dolomite grey from Florence Crushed Stone.
3. Project to be started after June 1, 2022 and completed by October 1, 2022. A penalty of $100 per day after the October 1, 2022 deadline will be assessed until the project is completed.

5. A current certificate of insurance will need to be submitted by the winning bidder before the start of work.
6. Payment will be made by the Cemetery Commissioners upon satisfactory completion of the project.
7. Bidders are responsible for inspecting the site as there will not be a formal showing.
