2026 Lawn Care Service Bid Request

The Town of Rutland is soliciting a multi-year bid for spring cleanup, mowing, and trimming of multiple properties within the Town of Rutland.  Bids will be accepted until Noon on March 20th, 2026.  The bids will be opened at the Select Board meeting on March 24th, at the Town of Rutland Municipal Building. The contract may be awarded at this meeting.

Specifications

  1. Properties to be included with bid:
    1. Rutland Town Municipal Town Hall, 181 Business Route 4
    2. Rutland Town Cemetery grounds, immediately to the West of Town Hall
    3. McKinley Avenue Fire Station, 272 McKinley Avenue
    4. Center Rutland Fire Station, 619 Business Route 4
  2. This agreement will be for the period of May 1st to November 29th annually for 2026 and 2027. The Select Board retains the right to cancel the agreement with 60 days written notice.
  3. Spring cleanup to be performed. It shall consist of raking and disposing of leaves, debris, and garbage off-site. Spring cleanup shall be done by April 30th . Removal and disposal of any/all debris and garbage is the responsibility of the contractor.
  4. Mowing and trimming to consist of cutting of the grass on the specified properties. Trimming shall be done around all stones, trees, shrubs, buildings, and fencing around the properties as applicable.  Trimming shall be done at least every other time the properties are mowed.  Mowing shall be done at least every 10 days but no more than 21 days.
  5. Bids are to be flat rate, per property, per season for each year of the agreement. Bids shall be accompanied by a current certificate of insurance. Contractors will be held responsible for any damage to town property, including cemetery stones.
  6. Bids shall be sealed and marked on the outside “mowing bid” and sent or delivered to Rutland Town Hall 181 Business Route 4, Center Rutland, Vermont 05736 by noon on March 20th, 2026.
