Post Road Sidewalk Paving Bid
The Town of Rutland Select Board is requesting bids for paving.
The Town of Rutland is constructing a new sidewalk on Post Rd.
Bids must be submitted to Rutland Town Hall located at 181 Business Route 4, Center Rutland, Vt. 05736 No later than 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday August 23rd.
Bids will be opened by the Rutland Town Select Board Highway Committee on Thursday August 24th at 12:00 pm.
Bids may be awarded on the August 29th, 2023, regular Select Board meeting starting at 6:00 p.m.
The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

Project Specifications:
The Town of Rutland is currently constructing the subbase of the new sidewalk. The top of the prepared area will be 3/8” Shur-pak. Additional material may be required prior to paving to get the area “at grade”.
The Town will supply any materials needed.
Approximately +/- 1250 feet of new sidewalk is being constructed.
This project will consist of installing a 2” base course of Class II bituminous concrete.
This project will also consist of installing a 1” top course of Type IV bituminous concrete.
There are 12 ADA compliant Pedestrian Warning Devices that will need to be installed at various intersections at the time of paving.
The Pedestrian Warning Devices will be supplied by the Town of Rutland.
Paving bid to be by the tons in place.
Per ton bid shall be based on the VTRANS posted price for liquid asphalt for the month in which the bid is made. An asphalt price adjustment per Vtrans specifications will be made up or down when the posted price at the time of paving changes by more than 5%. A lump sum credit or debit will be issued for the difference.
An outline of the contractor’s quality control program and proof of insurance shall be submitted with the bid.
Asphalt plants and materials shall be made available for inspection before or during production of asphalt for town work if requested.
