RUTLAND TOWN SELECTBOARD COMMITTEE MEETING

TOWN WIDE CELEBRATION COMMITTEE

MONDAY APRIL 9^th, 2022

The Town Wide Celebration Committee of the Rutland Town Selectboard met at 12:00PM on Monday April 9^th, 2022, at the Rutland Town Municipal Town Hall. Present was Selectboard Member Mary Ashcroft, and Administrative Assistant Bill Sweet. There was a conference call line with a publicly accessible and warned phone number in use.

• Discussed some of the events we could plan for this year
  1. A DJ and Happy Cows Ice Cream is confirmed.
  2. The Folsoms, from Jump For Fun, may be able to provide a bounce house for the event.
  3. The Rutland Free Library is planning to participate.
  4. The Boy Scouts have been asked but may have a conflict with another event that day.
• Flyers produced for previous events were reviewed. This can be a template for this new event and updating the events. Things like disc gold and pickle ball being available will be added.
• There are some contacts for Regional Ambulance and medical helicopters which we will reach out to about being able to attend.
• The event will be planned to run from 10AM to 2PM.
• Donations of food such as hot dog rolls, hamburger buns, potato chips, etc. will be sought in order to support the event.
• Hayrides have been popular in the past; we will need to find out if we can find someone who can do it.
• Discussed having water polo setup, the version the fire departments used in their muster games. This will be discussed with the fire chief to gauge interest.
• Discussed raffling off 2023 pool passes for people who attend.
• The flyers have worked well in years past to promote the event. It is important to get them produced prior to the end of school in order to be able to hand them out to students.
• All the activities in the park will be available for use, and we will see if the highway department can be on hand to have the garage open.
• Several additional organizations will be contacted to see if they can participate.

The meeting adjourned at 12:40 PM.
