HIGHWAY COMMITTEE MEETING
THURSDAY APRIL 8th, 2021
The Highway Committee of the Rutland Town Select Board met at 9:10 AM on Thursday April 8th at the Rutland Town Municipal Town Hall. Present was Board Clerk Joe Denardo, Board Member Sharon Russell, and Town Road Commissioner Byron Hathaway. There was a conference call line with a publicly accessible and warned phone number in use.
- The committee reviewed the proposed agreement with the railroad to allow tree cutting adjacent their line in Center Rutland.
- This will be included for the full board to review and approve.
- Reviewed the bids received for the replacement of the Gleason Road Culvert.
- Fabian Earth Moving bid – $68,610.00.
- Mendon Trucking and Excavating bid – $38,000.
- T. Hathaway LLC bid – $54,500.
- Belden Construction, LLC bid – $48,000.
- These bids do not include the cost of the culvert, which is approximately $16,000. The town will be purchasing this separately.
- A contract will be available for review at the April 27th
- Crossman Drive and Heather lane will be added to this year’s paving list.
- Discussed the proposed guardrail at the Post Road / Post Road Extension intersection
- Winter maintenance expenses were less than expected.
- The paving contract for this year will be available for the board to review at the April 13th
- The new pick-up truck will be a Ford F550 and will be a 2020 model year.
