Police Committee Minutes 1-21-2026

RUTLAND TOWN SELECTBOARD POLICE COMMITTEE MEETING

JANUARY 21st, 2026

The Police Committee of the Rutland Town Selectboard met at 11:30 AM on Wednesday January 21st, 2026, at the Municipal Town Hall. Present were Selectboard Chair Mary Ashcroft, Selectboard Member Matt Getty, Town Police Chief Ed Dumas and Town Deputy Police Chief Ted Washburn.

Discussed the purchase of the next cruiser.

  • The dealer we have purchased from before has 2 Tahoes on their lot, like the 2 we have now.
  • The cost is $4936 more than the last one, which is all in the base price of the vehicle.
  • The total vehicle quote is $79217.15. The quote for the radio equipment is $2446.29 not including installation, and the quote from stalker radar is $3640. A quote from watchguard for the camera system was not available for the meeting. Radar and camera systems have been able to be transferred in the past, but the vehicle being replaced does not have these to move over. All of these vendors have cooperative pricing or Vermont state bid pricing.
  • It is expected there is approximately $150,000 in the Cortina fund.
  • The committee will recommend to the full board moving forward with the purchase.

The committee entered executive session at 11:54 AM to discuss a personnel matter.

After leaving executive session at 11:58 AM, the meeting adjourned at 11:59AM.

Respectfully submitted, Bill Sweet
