TOWN OF RUTLAND SELECTBOARD SPECIAL MEETING

RUTLAND TOWN SCHOOL

• The meeting opened at 8:27 P.M. following the pre town meeting
• Board members present Mary Ashcroft, Joe Denardo, Kurt Hathaway, and Matt Getty

The Board members discussed the deicer, salt, budget for the Highway department. It was over last year and is going to be over this year as well. Discussed options for covering a deficit, increasing the budget line, and the Highway carryover account. After the discussion, no action was taken.

There was extensive discussion on the ballot item for the new excavator, based on the discussion from the pre-town meeting. Selectman Getty moved to reconsider the excavator ballot question. The motion failed due to no second.

Discussed the shared use path project in Northwood Park. Some additional work may be needed. Robert Clark, our engineer, will be contacted so he can review the project.

Selectman Hathaway moved to have an elected Road Commissioner position again who would then oversee a road foreman. The motion failed due to no second.

Selectman Denardo moved to approve the warning as presented. Selectman Hathaway seconded the motion. The motion carried 4 – 0.

Selectman Denardo moved to adjourn. Selectman Hathaway seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 8:56 PM.
