 RUTLAND TOWN SELECTBOARD REC COMMITTEE MEETING

FEBRUARY 2^nd, 2026

The Rec Committee of the Rutland Town Selectboard met at 11:30 AM on Monday February 2nd, 2026, at the Municipal Town Hall. Present were Selectboard Member Sharon Russell, Selectboard Member Matt Getty, Town Rec Director Mike Rowe and Town Administrator Bill Sweet.

Reviewed the discussion on town fireworks from the last Board meeting.

• The vendor ran out of availability for July 4^th quickly last year and we were unable to get that date.
• The cost was up more than 50% to $20,000 due to tariffs and labor costs.
• The decision was made to not have town fireworks this year.
• Meetings with representatives from the city for collaboration on future events will be planned.

Discussed changes coming to the fee schedule for the next year.

• The Town resident fee will now be $2 per resident per day.
• The Town resident family pass is unchanged at $60.
• The non-resident fee will now be $8 per person per day.
• The non-resident family pass will now be $200 and does include swimming lessons.

Discussed the progress made working with vendors on replacing the pool

• A vendor has asked about bringing in a firm to help with designs.
• Discussed how they would be paid, who would own the designs, how the design can be used and the scope of the project.
• Some repair work is being done this spring to help slow any leaks.
• An effort get more detailed information and costs will be made.

Discussed the schedule Mr. Rowe is working for Town Rec and how that balances with work he is doing at the Town school.

• Work is being performed for the town and the school during different days and times.
• A document will be drafted to better show when Mr. Rowe is doing town work, and how many hours, and school work separately.

Discussed some plans for the next Town Wide Celebration.

• A DJ will not be hired this year; it will be a live band like last year.
• Other plans are being finalized and will be reported at future meetings

The meeting adjourned at 12:25 PM.
