Town of Rutland Vermont Select Board

Special Meeting November 16, 2021

6PM—Municipal Building, Center Rutland

 

A special meeting of the Rutland Town Select Board was held at the Municipal Building in Center Rutland on November 16, 2021. Present were Select Board members Don Chioffi, John Paul Faignant and Mary Ashcroft in person, and Joseph Denardo via phone. Also present was Police Chief Ed Dumas and the following candidates for the open position of First Constable:  Mike Delehanty, Levi de Castro and Ed Hunter.

The meeting was called to order by Select Board Chair Mary Ashcroft at 6:10PM. Following the pledge of allegiance, upon motion made by Don Chioffi, seconded by Joe Denardo and unanimously approved, the Select Board went into executive session with Chief Dumas at 6:12PM to consider a personnel matter.

Candidates for the position of First Constable were interviewed by the Select Board individually in succession.

The Select Board came out of executive session at 6:50PM. Select Board member Sharon Russell was reached by phone and joined the meeting at that point.

Upon motion made by Don Chioffi, seconded by Joe Denardo and unanimously voted, the Select Board appointed Mike Delehanty to serve as First Constable.

Upon motion made by John Paul Faignant, seconded by Don Chioffi, the Select Board unanimously voted to approve the request of Fire District #5 to use the Town Hall Meeting Room on December 20, 2021, beginning at 7PM for one hour. Andy McKane agrees to open and close the building for this meeting.

Upon motion made by John Paul Faignant, seconded by Joe Denardo, and unanimously approved, the special select board meeting was adjourned at 7:02PM.
