School Resource Officer Requirements
RECRUITING ANNOUNCMENT
The Town of Rutland, Vermont is currently accepting applications for the position of School Resource Officer.

Minimum Qualifications
• Experience: Minimum of two years of experience as a patrol officer, including experience with juvenile assignments.
• Age: Must be at least 20 years of age
• Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Driver’s License: Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background: Must have no felony or serious misdemeanor convictions, nor any habitual or serious traffic offenses, Domestic violence or assault convictions. Other violations, which may adversely affect a law enforcement career, will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Salary & Benefits
• Hourly Pay: $30.00 – $34.00 per hour, depending on your law enforcement experience and Vermont Certification level.
• Health Insurance: Blue Cross Blue Shield Platinum Plan with $0 out-of-pocket employee cost for monthly premiums (Insurance buyout option exist).
• Retirement: Vermont Municipal Retirement System (VMERS) Group D (eligible for full retirement at age 50 with a minimum of 20 years of service).
