Heating System for Highway Garage

The Town of Rutland Selectboard is requesting quotes for a replacement heating system for our Town Highway Garage located at 339 Northwood Park Road Rutland, VT 05701.

Project Details and Scope

  • There is presently a Columbia Boiler brand waste-oil furnace installed.
  • There are 2 heating oil supply tanks installed. One tank contains waste oil, the other is #2 oil.
  • The current furnace provides hot water for radiant floor heating.
  • The current furnace has required extensive, sometimes daily maintenance to keep it running.

Bid Request

  • We are requesting bids to replace the current waste oil furnace system with a new furnace which will only run on #2 heating oil.

Bids should include:

  • Documentation showing the proposed furnace is correctly sized for our facility and use.
  • Documentation showing the new furnace will be installed as a fully functioning system.
  • Cost for a second #2 oil storage tank should be included, or a proposal to clean and reuse the existing waste oil tank for #2 oil.
  • An overview of expected furnace maintenance tasks and schedule.
  • Complete warranty information for all new hardware.
  • Full cost of installation, removal of items replaced, and the timeline for installation.
  • Any other relevant information.

Please mail or hand-deliver your quote by June 15th to our Town Hall for review by the Selectboard at the June 21st meeting.
